Dental Filling

Restore your smile with our expert dental filling treatments, designed to repair decayed or damaged teeth swiftly and comfortably.

Overview

Dental Fillings are treatments that restore undesired tooth structure, which could have been a result of decay or trauma. Decay makes teeth hollow. Dental Fillings help to fill this gap and protect the tooth from further decay. Dental fillings are also used to repair broken or cracked teeth.

Different materials are used for dental fillings, depending on the patient’s preference and the treatment requirements.

Anesthesia

Before we get started, you will be sedated, and you will receive medication to numb the area.

Time Needed

Forty-five minutes is needed for each tooth to be extracted.

Recovery

Some soring and swelling might occur for a few days after the extraction. This is perfectly natural and can be controlled by taking the medicine we suggest and placing a cold compress or ice pack on your face where the tooth was extracted. In addition, we recommend not eating solid food within a couple of days.

Return to Work

You can return to work immediately after the filling.

FAQ

What is a Dental Filling?

Dental Fillings are treatments used to restore teeth that have been damaged by decay, trauma, or fractures. They help fill cavities and protect teeth from further decay.

You may need a dental filling if you have cavities (hollow areas) in your teeth caused by decay, or if your tooth is cracked or broken and needs repair to restore its function and structure.

Dental fillings can be made from various materials, including composite resins, amalgam (metal), porcelain, or gold. The choice of material depends on factors such as the location of the filling, the extent of the repair needed, and patient preference.

Before starting, you will be sedated and receive local anesthesia to numb the area. The dentist will then remove the decayed or damaged part of the tooth, clean the area, and fill it with the chosen filling material. The process typically takes about 45 minutes per tooth.

After getting a dental filling, some minor soreness or sensitivity may occur for a few days. This is normal and can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication and by avoiding very hot or cold foods. You can return to work immediately after the filling procedure.
